Interestingly, if you click the link to the survey results, the administrators were apparently asked to rank consolidation of Maywood/Winnequah (which they ranked as their second highest priority for cutting.) But Maywood/Winnequah consolidation was not on the list of stuff for the board to rank. What's up with that?

The question was removed from the board version of the survey after some members of the board complained that they did not have enough information.

It is true that we had not been given the same documentation on impacts as we had for most other items, but the idea has been around for some time.

Not buying the "not enough information" for one second. That's nonsense. If that were the truth, it would have been removed from the administrators consideration also. Plus, I really fail to understand how that is a budget number that is all that difficult to nail down. It is very easy to hide from a tough and unpopular political decisions by saying "I don't have enough information."

To the last anon. poster- please explain me to in great detail how much it will cost to remodel Winnequah to accommodate Maywood students. Need more information? Thought so!

If Winnequah does need some changes to accommodate 4K-2nd grade students (heights of sinks or toilets in some bathrooms for instance)isn't there money that was set aside for updates for 6th grade program needs? Couldn't that be used or is its use dictated in the referendum language?

It is the board's job to direct administration to pin this number down. Good lord, we could save teachers, programs and class sizes and, seriously, there are board members who refuse to consider this merger because "they don't have enough information?" Then get the information!
