Positive Stories from 2007-8 wanted.

On the board we tend to only hear from people with complaints or when things go wrong. Yet as a commenter earlier pointed out many on our dedicated staff regularly go above and beyond in service of our students and community.

At the close of this school year I would like to give you an opportunity to relate your stories of how a staff member might have provided extraordinary service over the last year. Please share!

Hmm. 28 mud-slinging comments on the "rumor thread" and not one here. Well, I'll start.

I'd like to give a big public thank you to Paul Brost. What a gift that man is to our district. He is a true educational leader. Accessible to parents, students and staff, he is a joy to interact with and always has the best interests and academic achievement of his students at heart. The kids love him, yet he runs a tight ship. I haven't always agreed with him (hey, nobody is perfect!), but he has been very open and honest and when we're done talking, I understand why he believes in what he is doing.

Peter- I like this one-

How about Jill Jensen? She is a workaholic, cares about every kid, and does everything at Nichols! Her infectious personality and energy is great and she is always up for a new thing. Most of all, she wants kids to love music- and they do-
Way above the call of duty.

Now there are 40 angry, mudslinging comments.

What the heck is wrong with people who read this blog? 57 comments on a very negative string, and 4 here? Geesh, people, get a grip. It's o.k. to debate negative issues, but could maybe everyone who has posted negatively put one here too? Or do we want to show our kids that we should never take a second to be grateful for the tremendous abundance we have living in a place like Monona or Cottage Grove?
