Pretty nice.
The turn-out was great.
Sad that more Monona families did not come.

What did you expect?

My Monona family came . . . and we no longer have a middle school aged child. It was a lovely event and the school is beautiful - what a great environment for our children.

The sour points were the murmurings I heard while on the self tour; things like "well now after all these years they have to come to us".

Some people just can't let go of the us vs them mentality - It's WE!!!

I thought Mr. Hebel's speech was miss placed, ill timed and not appropriate for the forum.

I don't care anymore about the grumblings of the adults. Whatever. My kids are grown, but it's absolutely the case that the kids have always gotten along wonderfully and they will continue to do so. Making new friends in middle school is one of the high points for many MG kids. I'm from Monona and would have gone to the dedication but had another obligation on Sunday. It had nothing to do with it being in CG. Plus, most of the kids in that building will be from CG, so it's not surprising that was the crowd that was there. I think it's natural and we don't need to read too much into it. Go MG!

What did Hebl say?

The building is great and the kids are so excited! I know a lot of people put a lot of hard work into this project, and it turned out wonderfully!

Now, lets get to the work of edumakating.

This Monona family went, too. We saw a lot of friends and kids who will probably end up being our daughter's friend, too.
