Playtime Productions Children's Theater starts their fall tour of http://www.playtimeproductions.org/schedule.htm this afternoon at 2pm in the Monona Library auditorium.  Other nearby shows on the schedule include the MG High School Auditorium Friday, Nov.11th at 7pm and the Barrymore Theatre Sunday, Nov. 20th at 6pm. 

Founded by Monona's Teddy Studt, Playtime Productions has been providing great children's entertainment as well as terrific opportunities for young performer for 32 years!

1) Tomorrow (11/6) at 1pm the undefeated MG football team meets the undefeated Waunakee Warriors for their 3rd round playoff game in Waunakee - it promises to be a great game.  Go Silver Eagles!


2) It's Play Time again - I was privileged tonight to see PlayTime Productions preview of "The Emperor's New Clothes".  Another clever story with outstanding performances from a cast of 25 area kids including many from Monona and Cottage Grove.  Tomorrow's opening performance is at the Monona Public Library at 2pm, but they will be back in town with a performance at the high school auditorium next Friday at 7pm.  The rest of the 16 scheduled performances can be found at:  http://www.playtimeproductions.org/schedule.htm.  Don't miss it!

This season's performance is especially poignant as PlayTime's founder and long time Monona resident Teddy Studt recently passed away.  Teddy has touched the lives of hundreds of children and families in our community, and her legacy lives on in these productions she created.

The Little Match Girl...

Playtime Productions Fall Season is in Full swing. This season's performance features 25 kids, many of them MG students, in a beautiful musical adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's "Little Match Girl".

I've been involved with the Playtime shows for the last couple of years, and I'm always impressed by the talent on display and the results of the hard work and dedication shown by these kids- and you will be too. So don't miss your chance to enjoy the show and support this worthwhile organization - I've posted some of the most convenient dates below, you can find the full schedule here.

And don't worry, this production is appropriate (and entertaining) for even the youngest kids despite the serious subject matter.

Snow White

I'm sitting here at the Warner Park community center where "Playtime Productions" Children's theatre is putting on a performance of their spring production "Snow White". Snow White is played beautifully by Abbie Seaman, a Glacial Drumlin sixth grader (one of several talented MG students in the production.) In this version of the fairy tale she has 13 "Vertically Challenged" friends.

Playtime Productions presents musical theatre by kids for kids and was founded and run for many years by long-time Monona resident Teddy Stutd. Each production reaches thousands of people through 16 public performances around Dane County each spring and fall.

If you haven't yet seen this spring's show you have plenty of opportunity. They will be at the Barrymore Theater tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) and will play the MG High School auditorium on Friday May 8th. The full schedule can be found here.
